Professionals:

Combine your unique skills with what you want.

Uncovering who you are is key to helping you find the right career path. Through a series of testing and career assessment exercises we will explore your strengths, skills, interests and what you value. The first step in helping you uncover a meaningful and successful career is to first look at who you are, where you have been, and what is most important to you. You will complete a variety of assessment activities related to your past experiences, interests, skills, values and motivations:

  • MBTI
  • Strong Interest Inventory
  • Career Values Card Sort

Students:

My goal is to help both high school and college students with making informed career decisions. A variety of tests that can assist with identifying valuable information pertaining to personality type, interests, values and skills. Equally as important, is exploring personal interests and experiences- job shadowing and volunteering. Gathering and sorting through information is an important first step to the career exploration process. Next step is designed to help develop an informed plan for any student’s future.

Career Counseling Steps:

a

Step 1

Assessment & Testing

First, looking at who you are and what you value is the most important first step to the career process. You will complete several career assessments related to your past experiences, interests, skills, values and motivations. Career assessments are available in order to help you understand your personality, values, interests and motivations.

a

Step 2

Career Research & Exploration

During this phase of career counseling you will begin to conduct research on your top career possibilities that you uncovered during Step 1. THE MOST IMPORTANT step you can take before moving forward toward a career is to research it, talk to people in the career and see the career in action. This step is the one most frequently neglected for most of us. Your coach will guide you through this essential research process so that you can gather key information before moving forward in choosing a college major and/or career.

a

Step 3

Career Path Planning

You will narrow your choices down and develop a personalized career development plan, addressing your 6 month, 1 year, 2 year, 5 year career/life plan.
